One-time NFL Star Antonio Brown Enters Innocent Plea in Murder Attempt Charges

Ex- NFL player Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to address an attempted murder charge stemming from a gunfire that happened in May, as his lawyer entering a innocent declaration on his behalf.

Detention records in Essex County, New Jersey, show that Brown was freed on Tuesday early for his transfer to the state of Florida. Brown, among the most famous figures in the NFL, had waived extradition to Florida from New Jersey, where he was held after being arrested in Dubai.

Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, mentioned in an message that he has previously filed a documented not guilty declaration to the murder attempt charge. Brown could be in a Miami courtroom as soon as Wednesday morning for a release hearing, Eiglarsh said.

As per his arrest order, Brown is accused of seizing a pistol from a protection employee after a star match event in May and discharging multiple shots at a person he had clashed with before. The claimed individual, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to police that a bullet scraped his throat.

Eiglarsh said that Brown was only protecting himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was forced to take were purely in self-defense against the alleged victim’s aggressive actions. Brown was assaulted that evening and acted within his rightful entitlement to protect himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not promptly arrested because initially authorities did not recognize Nantambu as a affected party. It not until subsequently in May that Nantambu delivered a full statement about the incident to police and named Brown as the shooter, the affidavit states.

Based on his digital posts, Brown had been residing in the city of Dubai for multiple weeks. In a message after the incident, Brown said he was defending himself because he was “assaulted by multiple persons who attempted to take my valuables and bring personal injury to me.”
